本校創設於中華民國十一年(西元1922年)四月一日。當時屬日據時期,校名為「高雄州立高雄中學校」。
民國三十四年十月二十五日台灣光復,改制為「台灣省立高雄中學」,設有高中部、初中部。民國五十一年停止招生初中部,改名為「台灣省立高雄高級中學」。民國六十八年七月一日,高雄市升格為直轄市,更名為「高雄市立高雄高級中學」。
本校教師約二00人,均係研究所、師範大學或大學本科系畢業,師資陣容整齊,教學經驗豐富。
本校學生
78 班,約 3500
人,除特別班級音樂班、體育班男女兼收外,餘均係男生。素質優異,均為高雄地區國中畢業學生第一志願入學者。歷屆畢業學生經保送及參加大學聯考推廌甄選、申請入學進入大學錄取率均在 95%
以上。
A BRIEFING OF THE KAOHSIUNG MUNICIPAL KAOHSIUNG SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
GENERALITY OF THE SCHOOL
I The Kaohsiung Senior High School
was established on April 1, 1922, under thename of theKaohsiung Middle School of the Kaohsiung State during the Japanese annexation.
II On October 25, 1945, Taiwan was
retroceded, and the school was therebyreorganized to be the Taiwan Provincial Kaohsiung Senior High School. It thencomprised the Junior
High and Senior High Departments. In 1962, it was renamed the Taiwan Provincial Kaohsiung Senior High
School. The Junior High Department Ceased to operate. On July 1, 1979,Kaohsiung was
elevated to the municipality of an Administrative-Yuan dominated city, and the school, under
the administration of the city government, accordingly had its
name changed to be the Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung Senior High School.
III This school has a highly proficient faculty
of 200 teachers approximately, all graduates
thbachelor's degrees from common universities or normal universities. The teachers are
allwell trained in their respective fields of studies and are versed in teaching.
IV This school is composed of 80 classes of about
3650 students, all male students with the exception of those in the music and athletics classes. All are the first choices of
candidates that have passed the Joint High School Entrance Examinations for the
students in the Kaohsiung area. They display fine upbringing. For years, the
graduates from this
school get enrolled in universities or colleges through Joint College Entrance
Examinations,special recommend ations, retaining a percentage of 95% and above being admitted.
